My Story continued -

Hi Everyone I'm back,

I've been busy trying to straighten out my web pages and store. But I would like to continue with my story.

By the time I had gotten to the point of making the animals, I had been 6 years in another bad relationship trying to get through it. It brought on a lot more stress and depression. Within that time I had been in an life threatening auto accident, gotten a new job, threatened to be fired, child custody problems, bought a double wide, and lots of significant other problems.

So guess what back to the drawing board and starting new projects again.
First project I started was fixing my house up. It had been through hell with my last relationship and need repairs. At that point I had to do most of them myself. Small budgets and a lot of time on my hands.

I tore the carpet up, put down Pergo floors, new wall board, paint, plaster, wall paper, bead board. My double wide  was looking new again. And my parents moved in the next 3 years. (time to start crafting again)

I started making throws and quilts for my children and numerous other people .
Then came my sister, she had been bugging me to start scrap-booking with her.
I put her off a year or two. Oh well might as well try it. We started having all night marathons along with one of our other friends. Drinks, food, and scrapbooks party down!!!! No no lie we did have a pretty good time.

We scrapped for a couple of years and still do on occasions. We take 2 trips a year up to Boyne Highlands for their Girls Just Wanna Crop weekends. This has become stress free weekends I look forward to every year.

A couple of years ago I was short if funds for Christmas. And what do you get your family members that have everything? I had seen on Pinterest on how to make these wreaths out of fabric and I had a lot of it. So I made 15 wreaths that year for gifts. I started showing them off and had gotten a few orders. My friends have been awesome over the years. So I thought I would order some more supplies and keep making them. You guessed it I pooped out.

Two years later and a understanding significant other!! I'm starting again. Lets see if I can find my niche and make this work. It would be a nice retirement gig.

Still learning the laws, figuring out the web, and making wreaths!!!

And this is suppose to be a stress re-leaver!! LOL

Thanks for reading my boring life. But it helped me a lot being able to get my mind away from my troubles with my crafts.
I would recommend everyone to have a hobby.

Penny

Instructions on how to make my Daisy Heart Wreath

12" Daisy Heart Wreath

Hello Everyone,

My Name is Penny and I have been making wreaths for a while now. I have several people ask me how I make them. I am going to give it a shot. I am not going to lie to you I first started with the Idea from Pintrest. Since then I have been making alot of special orders for friends and open a Etsy.com account to sell some of them. Right now I consider it a hobby it takes a lot of time to make one.

To start out you will need a wire frame. Keep on mind the bigger the frame the more material it will take to make it.

12" heart wire frame

Material list (I guess at how much):

Approx:  2 yards pink fabric
             2 yards red fabric
             20 ft. red ribbon
             20 ft. pink ribbon
             20 ft of sparkly ribbon
             1 yard pink lace
             a big pink flower
a Valentine pick (the red hearts)
             a lace doily
             strand of pearls
             florist wire
             white florist tape

Step 1:

Iron fabric and cut into 1 1/2" x 5 1/2" strips (for the larger wreaths I cut them longer according to size). I use a round cutter, mat and a straight shape cutter.
The lace I cut 2" x 6 1/2"

Step 2:

Cut all the ribbon 7 1/2" long

3: After everything is cut, I count how many sections I have on the metal frame. On the 12" heart frame I have 4 big sections and 2 small ones. (I consider it 5 sections). I take and count out even amounts of each kind of fabric, lace and ribbon into 5 piles. This is to help keep the materials evenly spaced.

4: Then I randomly pick pieces one at a time and tie them on the frame. I only single tie them on every wire and pack them together tight so they will not twist around.

5: you do this all the way around the frame. Tie them tightly.

6: When its done. I then trim off some of the extra length on the ribbons and lace. I cut them to points all different lengths to add texture.

6: at this point you can just add a ribbon and hang it as it is. Or you can add decorations.

8: I use floral tape and wrap the flower and the pick together. Trim the extra wire off. Then I add long piece of floral wire to it and wrap that to it. In order to wire the flowers to the frame. Then I wired the doily on and the pearls. This takes a little more talent, and I'm not the best at it either.

This took me about 6 hours. Have fun and you may want to stretch it into 2 days. It's worth it the are beautiful.

Happy Crafting,
